The meaning of life

"They say the best kept secret is the one everyone knows …" ~ Anonymous/Unknown until further notice

History repeats itself, history is a pattern. Humans are pattern-recognizing machines, are we not? Then why aren't we learning from our pattern-ized mistakes?

No matter what path you take, you will reach a place. Even as a lower class, middle class, upper class, you can find answers. Even as whatever label you so fancy, you can find answers. Even while sitting bare-naked in the elements, you can find "it". The more important question is though, do you want to find the meaning of life? Or are you content with the way things are?

On a different tone, the following is a collection of quotes that link everything to everything else. I don't know anything, so how can I include everything? I also list a quote of a respectable person in his/her field (whatever subject it might be) to represent that field. Note that I have not concluded anything throughout these quotes (or have I?) - this is not an exhaustive representation of everything (or is it?); I am just trying to get you interested enough to look things up for yourself and teach yourself (a good start is WikiQuote and its QOTD Archive), simply because "I can't teach you anything; only help you to explore yourself, nothing more."

I am reminded of the professor who, in his declining hours, was asked by his devoted pupils for his final counsel. He replied, 'Verify your quotations.' ~ Winston Churchill

From here, I link to how math relates into this monopolistic merger. I offload this explanation to BBC's The Story of One, as they do a much better job than I could (even if it is a little bit funny :)). What's that you say? You watched it and it still didn't make any sense? You are still distinguishing, still attaching to ideas, concepts, things... "Give up thinking as though not giving it up. Observe techniques as though not observing." ~ Bruce Lee

So where's the politics and economics, you ask? Unfortunately, I am severely lacking in that department. Yet again, here is where I offload this discussion to the late Milton Friedman, an economist commentator, who appeared on episode 494 of Open Mind ™.

Et cetera... the patterns are everywhere...

I think that only daring speculation can lead us further and not accumulation of facts. ~ Einstein

I can't think for you; you need to think for yourself. In the end, all that matters is what you think. Why is that? Because as soon as there is one style, there is immediately another style. Even more pointedly: "Wisdom is not communicable. The wisdom which a wise man tries to communicate always sounds foolish... Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom." ~ Hermann Hesse. Wait... what's that you say? It should be one direction? It could be on reflection...

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." ~ Arthur Schopenhauer

I hope that you will take what I have written (esp those sayings/quotes that I made up/judged [e.g. totalitarian monopolistic merger]) with a grain of salt - sifting, sorting, and parsing so that ... something...
